Manuscript: Analysis of Interleukin 8 Secretion by a Stem-Cell-Derived Human Intestinal Epithelial Monolayer Platform

Authors Yuli Wang and colleagues describe interleukin-8 secretion analysis. This includes the measurement of 8 cytokines released from stem cell-derived intestinal epithelium. The analysis occurs in response to exposure to the pro-inflammatory cytokine TNFa.  The article shows results from using stem cells from 5 different regions of the intestine. The most responsive cytokine was IL-8 in all regions. Notably, this response could be blocked using common anti-inflammatory factors present in the gut.
