RepliGut® Services

Human Custom Gut Assay Services.

Our custom gut assay services put PhD level project leads and RepliGut® human tissue behind your compound. So you get reproducible, decision ready data.

Consultative by design

Studies designed around your compound, run by the scientists advising you

Whether you know exactly what you want or need our guidance, our PhD level project leads help you get the most from RepliGut® models. They design the study, choose the region of interest, explore our donor biobank, and select the endpoints that answer your question.

Because the people advising you also run the assays, you get realistic timelines and frequent updates. In practice, that means efficient project design, full visibility into ongoing work, and high success rates built on real experience.

Custom gut assay services cross section showing enterocytes, goblet, and enteroendocrine cells
Real human epithelium

Human cell diversity in a single monolayer

Because RepliGut® grows from primary intestinal stem cells, the differentiated layer contains the epithelial lineages found in vivo. That includes absorptive enterocytes, mucus producing goblet cells, and hormone secreting enteroendocrine cells.

Grown submerged on a semi permeable membrane, RepliGut® Planar cultures open both the apical and basal surfaces. So you can dose one side and sample the other, exactly as absorption and secretion work in the body.

Spatially organized

Reach the stem cell niche with RepliGut® Crypt

Some questions live at the base of the crypt, where stem cells drive renewal and repair. RepliGut® Crypt answers them with an engineered insert, unlike a standard Transwell. Its scaffold is laser drilled with a hexagonal array of microholes. Growth factors rise through each microhole, so stem cells stay proliferative above it while neighboring cells differentiate toward the edges. That recreates the true crypt architecture, stem cells at the base and mature cells around them.

So you can study secretory, proliferative, and absorptive lineages in one culture. You can also track wound healing kinetics as new cells repopulate a gap. Many programs pair Crypt with RepliGut® Planar, one for mechanism, one for throughput.

Common project types

What custom gut assay services let you study

RepliGut® cultures grow polarized human intestinal epithelium on semi permeable membranes. So you can run many study types on one reproducible platform, each designed with your project lead.

Measure barrier function

Track epithelial integrity with high TEER, then screen compounds for their potential to disrupt the barrier.

Model inflammatory response

Dose and sample cytokines apically or basally to study gut inflammation. See InflammaScreen

Screen for GI toxicity

Flag drug induced GI toxicity early, before Phase 1 trials. See StemTox

Study drug disposition

Assess absorption, permeability, and metabolism across intestinal regions. See In Vitro DMPK

Available endpoints

Standardized readouts for reliable data

These are the readouts your program can draw on. Available endpoints depend on the model, so your project lead matches them to your study. Each one is standardized for reproducibility across donors and runs.

Human relevant data also fits where regulators are heading. The FDA now actively advances New Approach Methodologies for preclinical testing.
